Altaf Bukhari offers condolences to deceased fireman | KNO

Visits Chanapora to express solidarity with bereaved family

SRINAGAR, December 17 (KNO) : Minister for Education Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today visited residence of Abdul Majid Wani, the Fireman, who succumbed to grievous injuries while dousing the fire at Koker Bazaar here last Sunday evening. Bukhari was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Syed Abid Rasheed Shah and Mohammad Akbar Dar, Joint Director Fire and Emergency Services Kashmir. Wani after falling from third storey of a building at Koker Bazar had sustained grievous injuries and succumbed to injuries at SMHS hospital. Lauding the contribution of Wani, Bukhari said the deceased fireman’s efforts prevented a major catastrophe and saved not just properties worth millions but many lives too. The Minister for Education said that he would ensure that the bereaved family gets due compensation including a job under the relevant SRO. “And I am also for a strong recommendation for a gallantry award to the deceased. I offer my highest respects and deepest condolences to the family of this brave and courageous man,” Bukhari observed. He said that the brave hearts like the deceased fireman are extra ordinarily humane in nature and are always ready to offer great sacrifices in the line of their duties. While expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, Bukhari prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. The deceased fireman was a resident of Lone Mohalla Chanapora, and was admitted at SMHS hospital from last several days. Meanwhile, the Minister for Education also visited Patshahibagh and Rawalpora to offer condolences to the bereaved families of Mohammad Assadullah Bhat and Haji Ghulam Mohammad Dar respectively.
